Timbra

Research program

Voice. Language. Cognition.

Timbra is a research program at Solutions Robaian. It looks at what speech can teach us about cognition: pace, pauses and word choice.

A sentence laid out over time: voice amplitude, words and pauses.

Our commitments

  1. Separate from Aura.

Aura gathers no data for Timbra. Using Aura never counts as consent to research.

  2. Its own consent.

Any participation will require separate consent and the planned ethics framework.

The research question

What can the pace and pauses of the voice reveal in French-speaking older adults?

Word choices, pauses and the organisation of a narrative offer different angles of study. These are research questions, not conclusions.

The method

Three readings of one voice.

01Signal

The sound of the voice.

02Language

Words and pauses.

From a publication to a testable question.

These publications describe Timbra’s scientific field. They do not validate Timbra: each one concerns its own population and protocol.
