Salwa

Research program

Listening to the nuances of voice.

Salwa is a separate research program at Solutions Robaian. It looks at the links between vocal expression and emotional well-being.

A sentence laid out over time: the pitch, energy and rhythm of the voice.

Our commitments

  1. Separate from Aura.

Aura gathers no data for Salwa. Using Aura never counts as consent to research.

  2. Its own consent.

Any participation will require separate consent and the planned ethics framework.

The research question

What can speech offer, and where should we stop?

Pitch, energy and rhythm shape prosody: how a sentence is spoken. A change in the voice is not enough to assign an emotion to a person. Salwa starts from these limits.

The method

Three readings of one voice.

01Signal

The sound of the voice.

02Prosody

Pitch, energy, rhythm.

A voice is more than a score.
